Aisle Be Waiting
Tall or short? Brown eyes or blue? European or American? Choices, choices. Now that you’ve made the most important one (hello, dark-eyed, 5-foot-8-in-shoes Texan), use our bridal guide to figure out the rest.
Girlie ActionParty to go: The Bachelorette Party Kit comes with everything you’ll need — scavenger hunt, dice game, photo album — except the inflatable schlong. Or stay: Make-your-own shoe boutique Morgan Miller (1634 Euclid Avenue, Miami Beach; 305-672-6658) now hosts gatherings for the bride-to-be.
Wear AboutsDress up: Visit designer Rene Ruiz’s new atelier (2700 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, Coral Gables; 305-445-2352), complete with full bridal salon, glass floors, and mother-of-pearl columns. Or down: Slip into an embellished white bikini from Rosa Chá (830 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach; 305-673-3665).
Blush HourGo all out: Pro makeup artist Vladimir at The Boys (295 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables; 305-444-4644) gives good face. Or stay in: Gussy up with Tinte Cosmetics (Cool Jane, 14760 Biscayne Boulevard, North Miami Beach; 305-949-6180). The Mynt Kiss lip shine was named for the SoBe club where the line’s creator met her hubby.
Deal SweetenerSugar high: You want layers, you want sugary roses, you want to have to get on a stepladder to reach the top. You want We Take the Cake (954-764-2253). Or low: Serve tiers of cupcakes like chocolate fudge and white cake with guava from Sugar Girl Bakeshop (305-898-7858).
Looky, LookyStrike a pose: The guys from Peter Dooling Photography have a photojournalism background, so you’ll remember whooping it up — not leaning on a tree. Or stay candid: Enlist your geeky cousin/nephew/co-worker to post video of your big day online for those who couldn’t make it in person.
Place SettingShould you stay: Rent out Key Largo’s Coconut Palm Inn (198 Harborview Drive, Tavernier; 305-852-3017). It’s got seventeen quaint rooms and an intimate beach. Or should you go: Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas has a new Explorer Weddings program that lets you tie the knot in locales like an Alaskan glacier or a European castle.
Now there’s only one last choice to make: Either you do or you don’t. (But let’s hope you’ve already figured that one out.)
